you all know I’m a Christian and you all know I’m verbal about my believes and I
don’t shy away when it comes to sharing and caring. Some tattoos were posted and
must admit beautiful is not the word. Now-now keep your big boy panties on. I to
read and know what is said about tattoos and body piercings in the bible.
Leviticus 19:28 “‘Do not cut your bodies for the dead or put tattoo marks on
yourselves. I am the LORD.
So, is it a sin to have a tattoo? In my opinion it depends, but now a day Christianity is
somewhat of a, I need to be heard and I will change the words of the Bible to enforce
my views on others. I do read my Bible and if uncertain of what I read, I investigate
and do some research. I decided that tattoos are not a sin. Depending on what you
tattoo. Anyone getting a tattoo really needs to ask themselves, why am I getting this
and what is the meaning of this tattoo? Is the tattoo an expression of witchcraft,
idolatry or pagan symbolism? If so, as Christians, we need to reconsider...
Therefore, I believe that not all tattoos are sin. One of the comments said that it’s
from the devil and no Christian should have them. If you do, there is no place for you
at our Fathers feet. Well there began my problem. Does this then mean that there is
no redemption for anyone who has a tattoo? Does this mean that having a tattoo of a
cross resembling your Christianity will ensure – no redemption? No reborn Christian
with tattoos working and saving souls in God’s name will ever be redeemed?
I wonder what will happen if we, so literally, change the meaning of the bible to suit
our needs, will we be redeemed? Needless to say, then, I’m in deep trouble, I might
not have any tattoos, but I married the “Duiwel”. Now I always believed that your
name was pre-given to your parents by God. A nickname is something given to you
based on your behaviour. As bikers we all have biker names. My significant others
biker name is Duiwel. So I married the devil, and love the man to bits, will I too be
punished for it. Why is it then that tattoos are the evil of the century, while in
Leviticus 19:27 is states, “Do not cut the hair at the sides of your head or clip off the
edges of your beard.” Why are so many of our men, short haired and clean shaven
even the ones judging the tattoos?
Went around, asked a few people about their tattoos and must admit, all had a
memory attached, a reminder of who I was and were I am now. A few honouring a
good memory. Not yet got one that was done for any sinful reason. So today I need
to say. No matter what you do. Tattoo or shaving your beard, If its done in sin it’s a
sin. If not? Let him without sin cast the first stone.
We serve a mighty God and He alone can and will judge. If you had a tattoo and had
it removed due to what ever reason, does that now mean that you are a better
Christian sitting in your home relaxing, a tattoo hidden by scars, an old tattoo, that
with the naked eye cannot be seen. We all have tattoos some just not done in ink.
Are you then better than the heavily tattooed biker who is out saving souls?
I would rather be heavily tattooed working for God, than a untattooed clean shaven
short haired Christian sitting and waiting for God’s work to come to me.
